Ukraine
Streamline is involved in a large project in Ukraine, financed by the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs. The project has the aim to strengthen the mentality of independence based on professional values of Ukrainian journalists and public information officers. The project plans to stimulate this process by creating a system for the training of media professionals in two key regional centres of the country: Kharkiv (Eastern Ukraine) and Lviv (Western Ukraine). Also journalists and public information officers of other parts of the country are involved in the project.
The project consists of a large number of trainings, working conferences and seminars. Local people will be trained to prepare them for their future work as trainers in the two regional media centres. The program is executed in close co-operation with the European Journalism Centre in Maastricht, Journalists' Initiative in Kharkiv and Policy and Law in Lviv. |

The Council of Europe and the European Agency for Reconstruction are working closely together to strengthen the democracy in the Balkan region. One of the countries they focus on is Montenegro. In the framework of this project Streamline was invited to develop a program for the training of Montenegrin public information officers. In co-operation with its longstanding partner Gijbels Communicatie & Advies the first training module was held in March 2004. Recently the second module took place. Early September the third one will follow. At the request of representatives of the government of Montenegro all parties involved now are investigating the possibilities of follow up actions. |
