Journalism is always on the move. News happens 24 hours a day, all over the world. That makes journalism a challenging but also difficult and complicated profession. Journalists in Central- and Eastern Europe have to face extra problems, due to the ownership of the mass media and often very strong political influence. These countries are still in a transition phase. Many of them are also preparing for EU-membership. It is therefore important to improve the professional skills of journalists in Central- and Eastern Europe. For this reason many national and international projects have been and still are implemented. Since many years Streamline is involved in preparing and executing a lot of these projects, large and small. Main topics are 'democracy and political journalism' and 'covering elections'.
Streamline-director David van der Houwen has a long and outstanding experience as a journalist, mainly in the field of political and economic affairs.
